MIGHTY Program expands through grant from Kohl’s Cares

December 23, 2019

Through a generous $200,000 grant from Kohl’s Cares, Baystate Health will expand its MIGHTY pediatric weight management program to include the Scantic Valley YMCA in Wilbraham starting in January 2020.

About the Grant

The grant will also provide support to continue MIGHTY programs at YMCAs in Greenfield and Westfield. These grants are made possible through the Kohl’s Cares cause merchandise program.

Through this initiative, Kohl’s sells books and soft toys, where 100% of the net profits benefit children’s health initiatives throughout the community.

Kohl’s Cares cause merchandise can be found locally at stores in Springfield and West Springfield, MA, and Enfield, CT. Since our partnership began in 2006, Kohl’s has provided more than $1,000,000 in support to Baystate Health.

About MIGHTY

Founded through a partnership with the YMCA of Greater Springfield, MIGHTY – which stands for Moving, Improving, and Gaining Health Together at the YMCA – is a six-month weight management program that offers treatment for childhood obesity through exercise, nutrition education, and a free 6-month membership to the YMCA for families.
