Baystate Health announces 2017 EMT continuing education schedule

The Baystate Health Eastern Region, comprised of Baystate Mary Lane Outpatient Center and Baystate Wing Hospital, has released the 2017 Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Continuing Education Program schedule of classes.  These accredited continuing education opportunities are offered free of charge as part of Baystate Health’s ongoing commitment to local EMTs and Paramedics and the communities both organizations serve.  Classes are held on the first Wednesday of every month, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Baystate Mary Lane in Ware with the exception of the April 5 and October 4 trainings, which are held at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer.   The 2017 schedule is as follows:

January 4-M & M Rounds- Focus Cardiac Chest Pain with Dr. Nicholas Fay   


February 1-Ventilation, Respiratory Distress & Failure with Dr. Richard Gerstein  


March 1-Report Writing & Medical Terminology with James Martinez, EMT P   


April 5-M&M Rounds-Focus Stroke with Dr. Nichols Fay     

May 3-Chest Pain and Cardiovascular Disease with Dr. Morris Leibowitz

June 7-Near Drowning with Dr.  Dana Cerone

July 12-M&M Rounds-Focus Cardiac Arrest with Dr. Nicholas Fay 

August 2-OB Emergencies and At Risk Populations with Richard Stefanowicz, EMT-P       

September 6- Pediatric Emergencies with  Dr. Roger Lafleur 


October 4-M&M Rounds-Focus Endocrine and Diabetes with Dr. Nicholas Fay       


November 1-Special Health Care Needs with Richard Stefanowicz, EMT-P 

December 6-Pediatric Cardiac Arrest & Traumatic Chest Injuries with Dr.Richard Romano
