15th Annual 94.7 WMAS Radiothon for Baystate Children’s Hospital Starts March 3
Tune In March 3-5
Since 2002, the 94.7 WMAS Radiothon has rallied our community in support of Baystate Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. This March, the 15th annual Radiothon will again be broadcast across the airwaves and captivate listeners with hundreds of touching stories of care between children, their families, and their caregivers.
This year’s Radiothon, presented by Health New England, begins March 3 with a goal of raising $350,000 for Baystate Children’s Hospital.
During this year’s event, you’ll hear how Morgan “Momo” Morris is thriving today as a spunky 7-year old following her 2011 diagnosis of Acute lymphoblastic Leukemia.
The care Momo received at Baystate Children’s Hospital included multiple blood transfusions, bone marrow biopsies and rounds of chemotherapy. Throughout the entire process, Momo couragously smiled, sang, and danced.
In keeping with her spunky nature, Momo played through her entire first chemotherapy induction; and during her second day of treatment, she delighted the doctors and nurses at Baystate Children’s Hospital with the joy and giggles only a child can get from playing with a whoopee cushion!
In talking about her daughter, Momo’s mother says, “She is amazingly strong and happy. We cannot thank Baystate Children’s Hospital enough for their care.”
Today, Momo is a fixture at fundraising events, like the 94.7 WMAS Radiothon. She adores her doctors and is taking on any opportunity she can -- competing in horse shows, playing ice hockey, dressing up like a princess, cheering on the Griffin's Friends marathon runners and, most recently, being selected as the 2016 state of Massachusetts Children’s Miracle Network Hospital Champion.
Be sure to tune in March 3-5 to hear Momo’s update and many other inspiring stories from Baystate Children’s Hospital patients and families.
