Baystate Franklin Medical Center Volunteers to hold annual Chocolate Fantasy fundraiser for cardiopulmonary department and mental health unit

January 28, 2016

It’s red and white, with love all over! It’s delectable chocolate treats! It’s love songs! It’s beautiful raffle baskets and Valentine-related crafts! It’s Chocolate Fantasy 2016!

Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s volunteers and member of the Baystate Franklin Auxiliary will hold their annual Chocolate Fantasy fundraiser Friday, February 12, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm, in the hospital’s main conference rooms. This year, funds raised at the Chocolate Fantasy will support the hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Department and Mental Health Unit. The public is invited to help combat the winter blahs with chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. The event also features a raffle, with baskets of beautiful items from local businesses. BFMC Clinical Notes, the hospital’s women’s a cappella chorus, will present a mini-concert of love songs at 12:15 pm in the main lobby. The Chocolate Fantasy is festive and is a great time to buy Valentine’s Day gifts for loved ones – or to simply treat yourself.

Sydney Ramey, chair of the Chocolate Fantasy committee, commented, “Many local organizations and BFMC staff and volunteers have graciously and generously donated chocolate items, from chocolate chip cookies, to chocolate covered apples, to truffles and fudge, and much more. We always invite contributors to ‘think creatively’ as they consider what to send in for the sale.”

Featured during the Chocolate Fantasy will be:

• A wide variety of chocolate items

• Valentine-related crafts

• Raffle, featuring several gift baskets

Clinical Notes, BFMC’s women’s a cappella chorus, will perform a Valentine mini-concert of love songs at 12:15 pm in the hospital’s main lobby.

A highlight of this year’s Fantasy is the raffling of an original watercolor by John Tomasetti, of Shutesbury, a member of the Old Deerfield Painting Group. The painting is on display in the BFA Gift Shop window. Purchase raffle tickets in the BFA Gift Shop -- $2 each, 3/$5, $10 for a baker’s dozen. The drawing will take place on Friday, February 12, at the Chocolate Fantasy.
