Medical Education

As the UMass Chan Medical School - Baystate campus, we provide:

• Population-based Urban and Rural Community Health—a curriculum track of UMass Chan Medical School
• 11 ACGME-accredited residencies
• 20+ fellowships
• 4th-year electives for visiting medical students

Our medical faculty have primary academic appointments at UMass Chan - Baystate.

Continuing Interprofessional Education

We are a jointly accredited provider of continuing education programs for the entire healthcare team.

Clinicals and Internships in Allied Health Professions

Clinical experiences for allied health students are available through Baystate's many educational partnerships.

Advanced Practice Programs

• Midwifery Education Program
• Clinical rotations for Advanced Practice students

Nursing Education

• The Nurse Residency Program trains graduates from accredited nursing programs with less than one year of experience as a RN.
• Clinical practicums for bachelor, master, or PhD-level nursing students at affiliated schools of nursing.

Pharmacy Residencies

Several ASHP-accredited pharmacy residencies are offered through our affiliations with schools of pharmacy in Massachusetts.

College Student Programs

• Baystate Undergraduate Programs are 10-week summer programs for local college students interested in a career in the health field.

High School Student Program

• The Baystate-Springfield Educational Partnership offers a variety of hospital-based learning experiences for high school students.
