Help Baystate Children's Hospital earn $30,000

May 18, 2015

Cast your vote for Baystate Children’s Hospital as part of White Cloud’s national Real Comfort, Real Kids video contest in conjunction with Children’s Miracle Network.

Support from the public could result in votes placing Baystate Children’s Hospital as one of three top-voted hospitals across the nation to receive a $30,000 donation from White Cloud. Winners will be decided by community vote on White Cloud’s Facebook page.

Baystate's content entry video

The White Cloud paper products company asked entrants like Baystate Children’s Hospital to submit a one-minute video answering the question: “How would you bring more comfort to kids in your hospital?”

The Baystate Children’s Hospital video defines comfort as “family, caregivers, friends and play,” and depicts numerous children at play on the hospital’s Play Deck.

“We try to normalize a child’s world as much as possible while they are in the hospital. Playing is what kids do every day, and it is a huge piece in their road to recovery while in the hospital,” said child life specialist Betsy Arseneau.

As part of their play in the video, children in the hospital made binoculars, butterflies and other animals using White Cloud paper products, even creating a finish line out of paper towels for two children racing down the hallway in kiddie cars.

How to vote

Individuals can cast a vote daily for Baystate Children’s Hospital by visiting White Cloud's Facebook page from their computer, tablet or mobile device. Also, if a valid UPC code from a White Cloud product is entered by a voter, it will count as 10 votes.

“We are so excited that Baystate Children’s Hospital is a part of the Real Comfort, Real Kids contest,” said Jane Albert, vice president of Development for Baystate Health and executive director of the Baystate Health Foundation. “If voted in the top three, the donation from White Cloud would directly benefit the comfort and care of children and families being treated at Baystate Children’s Hospital.”

Voting is open through June 30, 2015.

To show appreciation to voters, White Cloud is giving away one $25 Walmart gift card each day to a voter until June 30, and will award one lucky voter a year's supply of White Cloud products including bath tissue, paper towels and facial tissue.

“We are thrilled our partnership between Children’s Miracle Network and White Cloud is in its third year,” said Drew Lufkin, division VP of consumer sales for Kruger Products L.P. “Life-saving treatment is provided to more than 10 million children at 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals per year, and both White Cloud and CMN are committed to enhancing the environment of great comfort and care that is shown to patients and their families.”

Winners will be announced in July.
