Doctors in Haiti to receive training in Advanced Trauma Life Support thanks to Baystate's Dr. Reginald Alouidor

March 24, 2016

Soon after a devastating earthquake struck Haiti in 2010, Dr. Reginald Alouidor of Baystate Medical Center’s Trauma Service found himself traveling to his native land to assist those needing medical care.

Since that time, Dr. Alouidor has been working with surgeons in Haiti and with officials at the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) office at the American College of Surgeons (ACS) in hopes of bringing ATLS, a concise approach to assessing and managing multiple injured patients, to the physicians in Haiti.

Now, because of his dedication and perseverance, ATLS will be taught for the first time in Haiti this November, and Dr. Alouidor will be one of the instructors for that inaugural course.

Congratulations to Dr. Alouidor for helping to bring this important training to physicians in Haiti for the benefit of its people!
