Baystate Wing Hospital receives recognition

Baystate Wing Hospital has been named one of the nation’s 2014 "100 SafeCare Hospitals" by the SafeCare Group.

SafeCare Group honors these hospitals based on the Triple Aims of Excellence in healthcare – quality, patient safety and efficiency of care. The process was comprehensive, with analysis of data from over 4,500 hospitals throughout the United States in more than 30 measures.

Working together towards excellence

"This honor recognizes Baystate Health’s embrace of patient safety and quality healthcare as core values, and our commitment to constantly improving our evidence-based care processes," said Charles E. Cavagnaro III, MD, FACP, president, Baystate Health Eastern Region. "Every one of our talented and dedicated team members delivering patient-centered care every day contributed to this achievement."

All of Baystate Health’s Eastern Region Hospitals enjoy strong ratings in the quality of care they provide to their patients.

In September 2014, both Baystate Mary Lane Hospital and Baystate Wing Hospital were named among the nation’s top performers on 2013 Key Quality Measures by the Joint Commission the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America. The Joint Commission honors hospitals that consistently demonstrate excellent performance on evidence-based processes of health care. In addition, recently Baystate Mary Lane Hospital was award Honor Roll status as a “top-quartile” performer by the Harvard Pilgrim Health Plan.

The SafeCare Group published its first 100 SafeCare Hospitals listing in 2013 to recognize hospitals that excelled in evidence-based areas that are required by the Affordable Care Act.
