Silhouettes Salon Holds Cut-A-Thon to Benefit the 10th Annual Walk of Champions

February 25, 2015

On Saturday, March 7, Debbie Rozzen, owner of Silhouettes Salon and her dedicated staff will donate their earnings and tips that day for all haircuts and makeup applications to raise funds for the 10th Annual Walk of Champions.

Supporting her community

"We are proud to support such a great cause that helps so many people in our community," said Rozzen.

She has been in business locally for more than 20 years and is well known and respected as a talented stylist and business owner in Ware.

"Debbie continues her support and commitment for patients undergoing cancer treatments at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital with her involvement in the Walk of Champions and she is also a specially trained cosmetologist who facilitates our Look Good…Feel Better classes held at the hospital," said Michelle Boivin, RN, Oncology Nurse at the Baystate Regional Cancer Program at BMLH. "During the programs sponsored by the American Cancer Society and the National Cosmetology Association, Rozzen shares makeup techniques to help women overcome the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation."

How to participate

The Silhouettes team will offer $15 haircuts and makeup applications from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the salon at 164 B West Street in Ware. No appointments are necessary.

All proceeds of the Cut-a-thon will support “Team Silhouettes” fundraising efforts as they join hundreds of walkers in the 10th Annual Walk of Champions held at the Goodnough Dike area of the Quabbin Reservoir to be held on Sunday, May 3.

In 2014, the Walk of Champions raised $84,000 in support of integrated cancer services at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital.
