Two Chief Residents Serve in Washington, DC
Taylor Koerner, MD and Keith Reisinger-Kindle, DO, MPH completed their stints as Health Policy Fellows in Washington, DC with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, respectively. They acted as advocates for patients and healthcare providers back at home in meetings with Congress members concerning important changes to the healthcare system.
PURCH Student Appointed to Leadership Positions in AMA
Amanda Whitehouse, Class of 2021, is assuming a new role as student liaison to the Women Physicians Section of the American Medical Association. Previously, she served as Chair of the Membership, Engagement and Recruitment standing committee for the medical student section.
UMMS-Baystate Faculty Present Poster at NEGEA Conference
The poster on designing and implementing the PURCH curriculum, a novel curriculum for social determinants of health and caring for the under-served was co-authored by Raquel Belforti DO, Kevin Hinchey MD, Sarah McAdoo MD, Angela Sweeney MEd, Rebecca Blanchard PhD and Justin Ayala BS. It was presented at the 2019 Northeastern Group on Educational Affairs Conference: Leadership & Innovation: Moving Medical Education Forward.
