Goals
This elective is for the fourth year student choosing a residency in obstetrics & gynecology. The student is expected to function as an integral member of the high-risk team managing women with a complicated pregnancy.
Objectives
The student will...
- attend daily rounds and high risk obstetrics clinic.
- perform the initial history and physical with assessment and plan.
- present patients at rounds and write the daily progress note.
- participate in or observe high-risk deliveries, obstetrical procedures (e.g. cerclage) and fetal ultrasound.
- Perform an in-depth review and presentation of a specific relevant clinical topic as assigned to each student during the course of the rotation.

Prerequisites: This elective is ONLY open to students applying for residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Successful completion of Medicine and Ob-Gyn Clerkships and prior completion of at least one elective in Obstetrics & Gynecology is mandatory.
