Emergency Medicine Research Elective

Goals

This rotation provides students with an opportunity to be involved in active research in the field of emergency medicine.

Objectives

The student will...

  • function as research assistants by recruiting and screening patients for open research studies.
  • be involved in lab research either as observers or participants.
  • assist with literature reviews.
  • participate in weekly resident conferences and procedure labs.
  • be offered mentorship if motivated to design a study to be submitted for IRB approval.
  • have the opportunity to be offered authorship based on level of involvement on papers.
