Career Description

The Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09 Edition, is an excellent resource for information on the Mental Health Counselor profession.


This is a master's degree program. Upon graduation, students will also need to become licensed.


Students will have completed core courses such as abnormal psychology, and psycopharmacology.

Length of Clinical Experience

Approximately 4 - 6 months (600 - 900 hours)
