Who is eligible for a COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Shot?

Eligible for 1 Booster

Eligible for 2 Boosters

  • Adults ages 50 and older
  • Some people 12 and older who are immunocompromised
  • People who got 2 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine

Does my COVID-19 booster shot need to be the same type as my original COVID-19 vaccine?

Individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may have a preference for the vaccine type that they originally received and others, may prefer to get a different booster. CDC’s recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots.

How long do we need to wait between receiving my additional COVID-19 vaccine dose or booster and my flu vaccine?
