Plastic Surgery

The experienced plastic surgeons at Baystate Medical Center offer a full range of reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery services. The skill and expertise of the surgeons and support staff play a critical role in making Baystate Medical Center a leading regional referral center for plastic surgery, but it is not the only factor.

Having plastic surgery is an important decision.  Patients need to be thoroughly informed about the procedures they need or elect.  To ensure proper healing and the desired results, Baystate's plastic surgery specialists focus equally on evaluations before and after surgery, and on communication about the procedures.

Our Baystate Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery offices are conveniently located in Springfield, Northampton, Amherst, and Greenfield. Our surgeons perform surgery at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, and Baystate Mary Lane Hospital in Ware.

Skin Care Services

In our practice, we also provide non-surgical skin care services, such as:

  • Chemical peels (Phenol and Trichloroacetic Acid): a technique for restoring wrinkled, scarred, unevenly pigmented, sun-damaged or blemished facial skin, using a chemical solution to peel away the skin's top layers.
  • Dermabrasion: a mechanical scraping of the top layers of skin using a high-speed rotary wheel. This technique softens sharp edges of surface irregularities, including acne and other scars, and fine wrinkles, especially around the mouth.
  • CO2 Laser: a laser treatment that resurfaces facial skin and removes wrinkles by using heat to remove layers of skin. It provides an alternative to dermabrasion and chemical peel processes. This treatment selectively removes old and damaged skin and allows new, healthier, tighter skin to be rejuvenated.
  • PhotoDerm: a non-invasive treatment of benign vascular and pigmented lesions such as facial spider veins, port-wine stains, and rosacea. It is also used on patients with unwanted skin blemishes including freckles, age spots, sun spots, and birthmarks.
