Pediatric/Perinatal/Adolescent/HIV/AIDS Program

The Pediatric High Risk Infection Clinic is the Western MA regional source for specialty care of HIV infected or at risk infants, children and adolescents. The program has cared for over 800 families with children at risk for HIV disease. The program provides evaluation, screening, counseling and testing, treatments, social service supports and community referrals and resources to families living with HIV.

The clinical staff is a multidisciplinary team including Pediatric Infectious Disease specialists, nurse clinicians, nutritionists, a social worker and a pediatric developmental neuropsychologist. The staff maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with the child’s primary care pediatrician or family care provider. The clinic staff provides outreach and education of families and community providers regarding HIV infection in women, infants and children and adolescents.
