Diabetes and Endocrinology

At Baystate Health, our team of Diabetes & Endocrinology professionals provide a complete range of services for the evaluation, treatment and management of diabetes and other endocrine problems for both adults and children.

We offer a variety of educational programs and support groups to help people with diabetes feel better and enjoy a healthier life. Our registered nurses and dietitians work with individuals and their physicians to develop personalized diabetes care plans that teach them how to plan meals, manage medications, appropriately monitor glucose levels, and adopt beneficial lifestyle habits like proper diet and exercise.

Our Programs

Diabetes Self Management Education Program

This program is designed to help adult patients and their families to learn to manage their diabetes and live full and productive lives. A written health care provider referral is required. Some insurance carriers require prior approval for consultations. Participants should contact their insurer if they have any questions.

Endocrinology Outpatient Clinics

These clinics provide outpatient endocrinology and diabetes consultations and follow-up care.  Our clinics are located in Springfield at 3300 Main Street and at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital in Ware.

Pediatric Weight Management Program

This program is a multi-disciplinary program for children between two and 21 years old who are clinically obese (BMI> 95% for age). This program offers children and families resources aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Regional Growth and Nutrition Program

This program serves infants and children from birth through age six and provides services for growth and nutrition-related disorders including failure to thrive syndrome, feeding difficulties, abnormal growth patterns and developmental or behavioral disorders affecting nutrition or growth.
