Background and Clinical Focus

About This Provider:

As the Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness, Dr. Pack is passionate about preventive cardiology and helping patients control every major risk factor that contributes to heart disease and stroke. He is particularly interested in patients with a family history of heart disease, who want to avoid having a heart attack themselves.
Board certified in hypertension with special expertise in hyperlipidemia, smoking cessation, and healthy lifestyle, he champions the Baystate Cardiac Rehabilitation Program’s inclusive approach to preventive cardiology that incorporates nurses, exercise physiologists, tobacco treatment specialists, psychologists, and dieticians.
He is an Associate Professor at the UMass Chan Medical School, Adjunct Professor at Tufts Medical School and Springfield College and Chair of the Quality-of-Care Committee, American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. He is also grant-funded by the National Institutes of Health to conduct groundbreaking research.
An avid gardener, church choir director and organist, and father to five children, he fittingly includes exercise and juggling as pastimes.
