Baystate Research Facility

The Baystate Research Facility (BRF) is a 25,000 square foot facility with ample bench space for basic science research and access to the HistoSpring, our histology core, which provides histology, microscopy and tissue services to the research community.

Epidemiology and Biostatistics Research Core

The EBRC supports Baystate faculty in their clinical research and research education and has broad expertise in research methods, data analysis, and scientific writing.

Training for Researchers

Unaffiliated Investigators and Associates in Research

Research Centers and Departmental Research

Our investigators conduct basic, biomedical and clinical research in many medical and surgical specialties.

Department of Healthcare Delivery and Population Sciences (DHDPS)

DHDPS was established to focus on effective and efficient healthcare delivery and the advancement of population sciences that benefit the patients they serve. 

Clinical Trials Office (CTO)

The CTO supports clinically relevant sponsored research opportunities that will translate new knowledge into clinical practice to improve human health.

Pioneer Valley Life Sciences Institute (PVLSI)

The PVLSI was formed as a partnership between the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Baystate Medical Center and is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to biomedical research. PVLSI is the home to HistoSpring which provides histological services, microscopy services and tissue registry access to the research community.

UMass Chan-Baystate Academic Departments

Researchers in our academic departments are actively engaged in clinical research, including national clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies.
