Educating Tomorrow's Health Care Professionals
Baystate/Springfield Educational Partnership (BSEP) builds relationships with interested and committed students from the Springfield Public Schools and guides these students' experiences and academic paths towards careers in the medical field.
Career Exploration Programs - High School
All our after school programs and activities are organized to form the BSEP Academy. The BSEP Academy is prepared to bring a variety of learning experiences that originate outside the high school environment. These learning experiences are primarily focused in three areas: (1) career exploration and preparation, (2) academic and employment skills, and (3) science and math
instruction.
The BSEP Academy is primarily committed to the students of Springfield. Students from surrounding communities are welcome to participate in any appropriate academy program only as capacity allows.
If you are interested in learning more about the BSEP Academy, select the "application form" link and fill out the form entirely. Please note, that by filling in the parent signature field you are creating a electronic signature for the program. Once you have submitted the form, you will be contacted with next steps.

Career Exploration Programs - Elementary
Baystate Bigs - The Baystate Bigs program is a partnership between Baystate Health, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampden County and elementary schools in Springfield's North End. The program matches elementary school students with Baystate Health employees who serve as positive role models in the lives of local area youth. The program model designed by Big Brothers/Big Sisters employs a school-based mentoring approach with an additional focus on tutoring. Volunteers from Baystate Health donate an hour and a half of time each week to meet with their “little” and join them for weekly meetings and special activities such as field trips.
Baystate Lunch Buddies - BSEP currently works with area schools to connect adults with children to provide mentoring and positive role models. Baystate employees meet with elementary school children once a week and become positive and consistent influences in the lives of area youth.
Location: Lincoln Elementary School
Time Commitment: one day per week, 12pm to 1pm
